essential hypertension
When we get older we become more at risk to acquire diseases. As I have observed the most common illness that people acquire is hypertension. The normal blood pressure for a person ranges from 90/60 to 130-90, higher than that is what we call hypertension. In most cases people have primary or essential hypertension which means the increase of the blood pressure may not be due to any other diseases or it has no known cause. Persistent increase in the blood pressure is very harmful since it may cause heart attack, heart failure, stroke, rupture of aneurysm and chronic kidney failure. People who have sedentary or stressful lifestyle, those who smoke, obese people, those who have familial history are more prone to having hypertension. Lifestyle modification is the number one prevention for this disease.
